Description

Achilles, The Dragon Champion, right hand of Ezedkiel Enfuriay.

The greatest swordsman of the Emperor's Dragons, Achilles has a glorious history in his 200 years of service to the God Emperor of mankind. To the Legion he is a pinnacle of purity and strength, a hero to follow no matter what the odds, an advisor and friend to Dragonatus, a champion and legend on the battlefield.

One of the most famous battles was that of Auron Hill, on the Emperors Dragons controlled planet Vorge II, where Achilles and the 2nd Battalion took on the might of hive fleet Medusa.

Is was a long and bloody campaign that lasted 7 months, 2 weeks and 4 days. It was also the most costly campaign recorded in the Emperor's Dragons history to a single battalion, with 831 marines dying in the Emperor's name, the survivors of the 2nd battalion left to pick up the pieces and regroup.

In the final days of the war, the main armada of the Emperor's Dragons fleet, led by Zedekiel Himself came to the rescue destroying the hive fleet in orbit, its resources at that point depleted by the efforts of the 2nd battalions stout resistance.

On the battlefield, the Dragons held back wave after wave, single handed at the end, human forces were all but obliterated. Achilles, the Dragon champion, with his personally picked squad, launched lightning raids amongst the ranks of the Tyranids, destroying synapse creatures, interfering with their leadership and co-ordination.

On the final battle the Hive tyrant arrived with Trygons at it command. The Emperor's Dragons lost the most casualties in the last battle, and it was when Achilles would solidify his place as one of the greatest heroes of the imperium.

Driving a wedge through the swarms, Achilles slew droves of Tyranid minor forms as he made his way to the Hive Tyrant.

The Hive Tyrant sensing the danger of Achilles sent a Trygon to slay him. Achilles was about 40 metres from the Tyrant when the trygon, having dug into the ground, Ripped up the earth around Achilles, knocking him to the ground. But before the Trygon could destroy him, Achilles had his sword in hand, and with all his legendary strength he threw his ancient blade into the Trygon's skull as it went for him.

The blade clove into the head of the Trygon with ease, the arcane energies of the weapon warping reality around it, atomising the Trygons hideous head.

Crashing to the ground, the Trygon fell, Achilles contemptuously walking over the corpse. In the meantime, the Emperor's Dragons saw what he was doing and reigned fire down to assist Achilles, though it cost them many lives, it was all they had, it killed all creatures around the Tyrant, leaving Achilles to dual it alone.

The Tyrant finally turned to Achilles, Screeching a psychic bellow that would have killed any mortal. But Achilles was a space marine of the Emperor's Dragons, pure and resolute, he shrugged off the psychic attack and advanced.

The dual was short and brutal, the Tyrant, stronger and quicker, Achilles armed and protected by weapons and armour forged for gods.

But there could only be one standing in the end. After a manoeuvre of supreme skill, Achilles beat the Tyrants defences and plunged his blade deep in the Tyrants form, activating the blades power he atomised the alien monstrosity.

The Tyranids went into disarray, the remaining Emperor's Dragons, assisted by the newly arriving battalions from the victorious fleet above cleansed the planet of Tyranid filth.

Achilles, bloody and scarred stood victorious but at a heavy cost...

Here's something: when a Hive Tyrant dies, the Tyrant Guard automatically goes berserk and attacks whoever killed it. Slaying a Hive Tyrant isn't exactly easy, so how'd this guy do that AND survive the Tyrant Guard?
